Kayco Spray Booths Case Study
Industrial Case Study
When it comes to providing spray booths for small, mid-size or large companies, we know there are many possibilities out there. However, not all booth manufacturers can or willing to tailor the equipment to fit your floor space or process.
Kayco Spray Booths can do a simple batch type system for small production numbers or a powered conveyor system for higher production numbers. Provide us your requirements and we can design the system from there.
We love to use our expertise to complete projects that require our ability to adapt to your unique circumstances.Â
Let’s look at our repeat customer Steves & Sons Doors in San Antonio, Texas.Â
Moved production into a new facility, wanted to finish approximately 400 doors per day. Had a room located on the side of the main production space that created some obstacles.
Six new spray booths, dry oven, sanding stations and heated supply air had to work together in the space available. The main finishing equipment is located inside the room with the heated air make up unit located outside. A custom stand was built by Kayco to mount the heater and allow for service access. The air is then pushed through ductsox on the inside of the room to provide fresh supply air to the system. The doors are loaded onto the conveyor line and pass through +the different stages of finishing. The doors are on the line for approximately 4.5 hours. The doors are then packaged and shipped to major home improvement stores. The line is used for standard doors and also allows for custom orders to be finished to customer specifications. Note the precision with which we were able to work in a space-limited environment.
To make it happen, we built custom-sized booths to accommodate the available floor space. The depth of the booth was kept to a minimum with built in transitions for mounting the fans. We mounted the heater outside on the custom built stand. The customer added another process to the line and a second sanding station was added in-line with booths a couple months after the line was started.
Furthermore, we were able to upgrade older, existing booths from a different manufacturer. The bottom line is that we can deal with any situation and utilize our experience of many years to overcome situational challenges that other competitors won’t touch.
